**Job Summary**
As the SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for proactive monitoring, incident management, database security, patching, and administrative services to ensure the reliability and security of SQL Server databases.
**Job Description**
We are looking for a **SQL Database Administrator** to proactively monitor, incident manage, oversee database security, and provide administrative services to ensure the reliability and security of SQL Server databases **.** This position will be **full-time** and **remote.**
**What You’ll Do**
+ Set up and maintain monitoring systems for SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance and quick response to alerts
+ Handle incidents and service requests using the ServiceNow system, focusing on timely resolution and effective communication
+ Implement multi-layered security measures following Microsoft best practices to protect data and system integrity
+ Coordinate and apply patches to SQL Server instances, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance with security standards
+ Utilize the ServiceNow portal for managing service requests, maintain a dynamic knowledge base, and participate in monthly management reviews
+ Provide support for specialized projects, including database performance optimization and system enhancements
**What You'll Need**
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
+ 8+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration
+ Experience working with SQL Server 15.0 & above
+ Excellent analytical and communication skills
Preferred:
+ Experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions
+ Proficiency in SQL Server monitoring and security best practices
+ Strong knowledge of backup and recovery processes
+ Working knowledge of SSIS and SSRS utilities on SQL Server
+ Performance tuning and cloning experience
+ Proficiency in T-SQL
+ Implement strategies to ensure high availability and disaster recovery
+ Experience in windows servers including Active directory
+ Working knowledge on Azure platform is preferred
+ Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow
+ Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
**Physical Demands**
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
+ Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
