The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Head Lifeguard(part-time, temporary, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director.
This opportunity is only open to 1) current regular City of Chandler employees, 2) those participating in a city-approved internship or apprenticeship program, and 3) temporary employees who are paid through the city payroll system.

Who we are looking for
Chandler Aquatics is seeking a responsible, self-motivated, and organized Head Lifeguard to join our team. We are looking for someone with good decision-making skills who trains and coaches employees, leads a Junior Lifeguard program, prioritizes daily work assignments, and performs daily duties in the most efficient manner.

Minimum Qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 1 year of experience as a lifeguard or swimming instructor; and
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Water Safety Instructor Certification; and
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Applicants for employment and volunteer opportunities should be aware of the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol. These policies have not been altered by the passage of Proposition 207. The use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy. Certain positions within the city are required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
