**Job Description:**

Performs scheduled maintenance and in-depth repair as required on aircraft ground support equipment. Reviews maintenance records of periodic maintenance to ensure equipment is fully operational in support of daily equipment requirements. Uses an assortment of basic hand tools in addition to precision measuring devices. Works from complex written instructions such as formal test specifications, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manuals. May instruct lower-level mechanics in technical aspects of Ground Support equipment work. Exercises appropriate safety measures. Strong teamwork and communication skills are required. Will be working side-by-side with U.S. Government, military, and contractor personnel at Edwards AFB, CA.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma or equivalent.

+ Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas). Be physically active for long periods and use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects exceeding 50 pounds.

+ Must be able to support a 4/10 – 3/10 working rotation, both first and second shift, to support operations.

+ Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

+ U.S. Citizenship required.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Final clearance required to start.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access clearance within 365 days from date of submission; this is a condition of employment. Program Access required to start.

+ Must be detail oriented, teamwork oriented, and have a strong work ethic.

+ Must be able to learn and follow established processes, procedures, and requirements.

+ Must be willing to work on-site at Edwards AFB, CA.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ 2+ years’ experience Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) operations, or related fields.

+ An active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

+ Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

+ Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

+ EPA Refrigerant Certification.

+ Maintenance database experience (ALIS, FMT, IMDS, etc.).

+ Experience in a military aircraft flight line environment; with relevant certifications.

+ Experience in tool and FOD control processes and procedures.

+ HAZMAT experience and/or certifications.

+ Forklift experience and/or certifications.

**Salary Range:** $42,000 - $70,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
