**Responsibilities**

**JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE**

The Community Investment Program (“CIP”) is at the forefront of realizing the organization's mission of helping the most vulnerable, and is committed to promoting the total health and health equity of communities. The CIP channels financial resources to institutions or projects that address the social determinants of health in the form of below-market rate loans to institutions and/or projects to promote access to jobs, housing, food, education, and health care for people in low-income communities, with a particular focus on the communities we serve. The CIP currently has an allocation of up to $400 million, of which approximately $250 million is either deployed or approved for deployment.

The Community Investment Program Manager has primary accountability for sourcing and underwriting community investments (subject to CIP policies and approval by the appropriate governing bodies), and supports and fosters partnerships and business relationships internally and externally, as relates to CommonSpirit Health’s successful management of the CIP. The Program Manager leads the operations and portfolio management of existing loans (approximately 100 currently in the portfolio) throughout all of CommonSpirit’s service territory.

This position reports directly to the System Director, Investments within the Treasury Department. Internal contacts include Treasury / Investments, Legal, Mission Integration, System office direct report, staff, and local Community Health and Mission Directors and staff, CommonSpirit Health’s Community Investment Program Subcommittee, hospital presidents, hospital/service area Community Health Directors, and hospital/service area Community Advisory Boards. External contacts include community investment borrowers, community lenders, and community partners. The CIP reports through a Community Investment Subcommittee, which is a standing Subcommittee of Finance Committee, and is comprised primarily of external subject matter experts. CIP loans are approved by the Investment Subcommittee, as the capital is deployed from CommonSpirit’s long-term investment reserves. This role works collaboratively with several members of the investment team regarding CIP loan reviews as well as in exchanging input and recommendations on various mission-aligned investment opportunities.

**Qualifications**

**Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience, with demonstrated excellent analytic and communication experience in working with community-based organizations

+ 7+ years of financial, underwriting, and/or banking experience. Understanding of finance and accounting principles in relation to project budgets, purchasing and analysis of financial results; nonprofit financial accounting and familiarity with community investing a plus.

+ Demonstrated commitment to employee/contract development and accountability to accomplish program objectives.

+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences, are required.

+ Decisiveness/Ability to make a quick assessment of the scope of an opportunity or issue and provide options for action or resolution.

+ Ability to contribute to the implementation of Community Health operational and strategic goals and objectives and ensure effective collaboration to achieve goals and objectives.

+ Demonstrated KPI and service level management experience.

+ Proven ability to interact with people at all levels inside/outside the organization to develop effective partnerships.

+ Proven ability to work collaboratively across various levels of the organization, with ability to build strong working relationships with external partners and networks.

+ Demonstrated excellent written skills, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously.

+ Action-oriented; proven ability to adapt and adjust own views and objectives in order to achieve defined goals.

+ Demonstrated group facilitation skills and ability to lead meetings. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

+ Proficiency with Google docs, Google sheets, Google slides, Word, Excel software; familiarity with Access database software.

**Pay Range**

$68.76 - $99.70 /hour
